UNTL boasts new administrative offices allowing teachers and students to reclaims their classroom used temporarily for administrative work.
The National University of Timor Lorosa’e, UNTL, is currently building a new complex to house the university’s administrative offices and so teachers and students can get their classrooms back.
Due to limited space to house the administrative offices at UNTL, temporarily they were housed within the classrooms inside the various faculties, forcing teachers and students to make do with the few remaining available classrooms.

UNTL’s Chief of Inspection, Evaluation and Quality Control, Constancio A. Pinto, said the new administrative wings will allow teachers and students to use classrooms for teaching and learning rather than for administration purposes.
“This is why the university decided to establish these new facilities,” said Chief Pinto.
In the meantime the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts, UNTL, Marcos Amaral, is glad with the building of the new complex as it will help provide greater assistance to teachers and other staff.
“Our teacher and other staff need a space of their own as well so they can work,” said Deam Amaral.
He hopes shortly the new complex will be complete and handed over for use by teachers and other administrative staff.
According to Bendito Soares, a student of English, Faculty of Education and Art said the construction of the administrative wings complex represented a step forward for his university.
“Last year there was nothing and this year we have these houses in each of the Faculties and of course this will bring new advantages because we will have more space,” said student Soares.
