The Ministry of Public Prosecution’s Judge Francisa Cabral read out the accusation that took place February 2012. The victim-AT was leaving for work before being able to find the toothpaste for accused-ZB.

The incident started with ZB hurling verbal offences at AT and following her around the house while she looked for the toothpaste. As AT went into the bedroom, ZB followed and started arguing with AT. Following an exchange of words, ZB dragged AT by the hair and kicked and slapped her causing her to have swollen eyes.

After the hearing the Judges’ accusation ZB remained silent. AT in turn told the court that since the incident ZB and AT have reconciled their differences and are no longer living together. AT is currently living in a rented home.

“Mana ZB has apologized to me and she is getting along well with me,” said AT.

After the hearing of AT’s declaration, the court sentenced ZB to a one-year suspended sentence but warned the accused that if she repeats the offence she will immediately sent to jail.
