The National Youth Council of Timor-Leste (CNJTL) has co-operated with the Japanese Embassy in Timor-Leste to send 14 young people to Japan to partake in a comparative environmental study.

CNJTL president Leovigildo Hornai said the youths had now returned to Timor-Leste.
“They are back from Japan; now some are working with me at CNJTL and others are providing courses to other young people,” he said.
He said the participants learned about cleaning up and how to live in a clean environment during their trip.
“They will hold an activity for the community; a neighbourhood cleanup,” he said.
One of the 14 participants, Osorio da Costa, said they learned not only about cleaning up but also computer skills and English.
