Member of National Parliament (MP) Cesar Valente de Jesus has questioned why a planned dormitory, to be built in Aileu for use by the National Timor-Leste Police (PNTL), has not yet been built.
Member of Commission B (for security, defense and foreign affairs) MP de Jesus called for an explanation as to the cause for the delay in construction.
“Commission B will go to find out why the dormitory in Aileu hasn’t been constructed,” he said at National Parliament.
MP de Jesus said PNTL members needed adequate housing to enable them to carry out their duties more effectively.
“They should feel comfortable when doing their duties,” he said.
Secretary of State for Security (SES) Francisco Guterres said the project was still out to tender.
“However we have run construction in three districts well, including in Oe-Cusse, Manufahi and Liquisa which is still running,” said Guterres.
