Two Timorese athletes from the Taekwondo Athletes Organization went to Thailand for two weeks of training.

The two athletes, composed of one male and one female, were from the Taekwondo Athletes Organization.

The objective of the training in Thailand was to increase their capacity and their athleticism.

Athlete Fernando Jose Paulo said he was happy as the Secretary of State for Youth and Sport gave them a good opportunity to do the two weeks of training.

“We’ve already gone to Macau and now we will go to Thailand,” he said.

Paulo said the training was very important for him to increase his capacity and athleticism.

Therefore he asked the Secretary of State to give opportunities to other athletes so they could go for training overseas, as there are a lot of athletes.

At the same time, Taekwondo President Luis de Jesus said the athletes went for the training from July 26 to August 9 this year.

“They took part in training about Taekwondo skills,” de Jesus said.

On the other hand, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sport Miguel Manetelo asked the two athletes to take on opportunities so they could develop their athleticism.

“You should dedicate yourselves for the 10 days and follow it carefully, as if you follow well you will get a lot of things out of it,” he said.
