The Choirs from Santa Cecelia de Balide and Santo Antonio de Motael welcome the Darwin Chorale to Dili for a concert which all three choirs will be presenting at the Foreign Affairs Building on 6 August at 7.00 pm.
This exchange with the choirs has developed from a previous exchange in 2008 when the Darwin Chorale first joined with the Dili choirs and went onto perform at the Darwin Festival and the result this year is the same, the Dili choirs are performing at the Darwin Festival and as well several other community choirs, in August 2011.

Popular music will be performed in the concert and all choirs will perform a medley from the musical Godspell.   Traditional Timorese music will also be performed.  Nora Lewis the Musical Director of the Darwin Chorale has composed  choral music called Breath of Earth which will have its first public performance in Dili.  Reflecting the disparity of the groups she has bought all her skills and that of the singers together with this music and its theme of wind in motion and joining people together.
When Antonio de Padua  (picuted here) from the Balide choir heard this music on a recording at Darwin Airport recently he was enthralled and could not believe how marvellous the music is.  He is looking forward to performing it.
Everyone is welcome to the concert on 6 August at 7.00 pm at the Foreign Affairs Building and entry is free.
