Member of Parliament Manuel Gaspar has criticized the Vermasse sub-district administrator for allegedly using a state car to harvest rice in July.

Gaspar said the vehicles were provided to state officials to facilitate their jobs, “not for them to harvest rice for their own profit”.
“I think it is not a good attitude,” he said.
He said immediate intervention by the government was necessary to discourage the misuse of the vehicles as they were public assets and not for private use.
Deputy Prime Minister Fernando La Sama said while he believed using the state cars for agricultural purposes was tolerable, it must not be for personal gain.
