The Women’s Group Parliamentary Timor-Leste (GMPTL) considered the Work Criminal Police Investigation failed to find out the perpetrator of dumping a baby due to they haven’t identified the suspects until now.

The GMPTL Member Ilda Maria da Conceicao said the case of dumping a baby happens all the time, in 2013 there were 3 case of dumping a baby and there is one in 2014 however until now SIK hasn’t got the perpetrators.
“We can say it fails because it happens all the time but there’s no one perpetrators that police get,” said MP da Concencao at the National Parliament.
Therefore she urged the government to improve the police capacity in order to be more professional in the future.
“Sending them to attend the training in Indonesia because we watch in their Television is very easy for Indonesian Police to get the perpetrators on that case,” urged the MP.
In response to this concern the Exercise Commandant Inspector Chief Manuel Alves recognized till the present time SIK hasn’t got the perpetrator on the case of dumping a baby which happened last year (2013) and this year (2014).
He added it’s quite hard for SIK to identify the perpetrators on the case because there’s a lot problem that they faced.
“There’s no witness who see that and as an example the suspect who dumping a baby lived in Mandarin but she dumps her baby in Vila verde,” said Chief Alves.
Apart from this he said another obstacle that faced by SIK is the head village has no control for his community within the village who are pregnant.
“The head village should know how many pregnant women across the village, so that when they give a birth and they have no baby, we can distrust where their baby is,” Commandant said.
Nevertheless he said SIK keeps working and slowly will get the perpetrators who did the action.
Therefore on his behalf is called on the head villages and the entire communities to cooperate with SIK so it will be easy for them to capture the perpetrators of dumping a baby.
