Police for criminal investigation work (SIK) registered 315 crime cases during two months (April to May 2014).
Interim Commander, chief inspector Manuel Alves said, there are 157 cases registered on April and another 158 on May.
“The high volume of the cases are the cases with the type of offence for simple physic integrity and Domestic violence (VD),” said Chief Inspector Manuel Alves at kaikoli, Dili.
Based on the statistic in April, the number of domestic violence case rose to 55 and the case of offence for simple physic integrity rose to 52, besides in May, Domestic Violence case rose to 21 and offence for physic integrity case rose to 31.
According to Commander Alves, the other cases like homicide and serious crime case are not in high numbers.
“The case of homicide only 4 occur in April and 3 in May,” said Chief Alves.
He added, these crimes mainly happen in Dili and Ermera district.
On the other side, Virgilio da Costa Hornai was surprised of the crimes that reach very quickly in only two months with a high number.
Therefore, he asked the government to interfere for preventing these crimes.
He said, to fight against the crime of offence for simple physic integrity case, police must do full operation or routine vigilance in the places that consider risk.
