Member of Parliament (MP) Benvinda Catarina Rodrigues has asked why the project to rehabilitate the road between Dili, Manatuto and Baucau, approved in 2013 has still not begun. 
MP Rodrigues said Parliament last year approved a budget of $10,718 million for the project.
“When will the road be fixed?” she asked at National Parliament.
Minister of Public Works Gastao de Sousa said the project was not yet started as the budget needed to be examined by the budget tribunal.
However he said the plans for the project had been drawn up, with progress stalled until the tender was offered.
