
A Baucau electricity infrastructure project has been destroyed by a group of vandals who claimed they should have been awarded the contract to carry out the work. 
Member of Parliament Inacio Moreira said the contract had in fact been awarded to Bulesa Company.
“The youths came and destroyed the projects and now they have to be put on trial,” said MP Moreira at National Parliament.
“I think it has to be reported to the police to take action because it is a crime.”
Secretary of State for Electricity (SEE) Januario Pereira acknowledged quarrels in the area put the Baucau project in jeopardy.
He called on those involved, including Bulesa Company, to resolve the rift.
“We tried once to resolve it but there’s no conclusion,” Secretary Pereira said.
However he said SEE would continue to search for a solution.
He said Bulesa Company Had reported the incident to police.
