The National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) will soon set up radio communication repeaters in three sub-districts and one district.
PNTL Chief Logistical office Superintendent Basilio de Jesus said the repeaters would be installed by the PT Padomakum Indonesia Company.
He said the locations for the repeaters were the Lolotoe, Atauro and Bobonaro sub-districts as well as the Oe-cusse district.
“So far those sub-districts haven’t been set up,” Superintendent de Jesus said in Kaikoli, Dili.
He said even though the repeaters had been set up in other districts and sub-districts, sometimes they did not work properly due to unstable climatic conditions.
He said this year they will set up the repeaters properly so they can correspond with the communication system which is integrated with the analogue and digital communication systems.
Commission B (security, defense and foreign affair) member MP Anna Ribeiro urged the police to accompany the company installing the repeaters to ensure the work’s quality.
