National airline Air Timor will begin flights to Bali codeshared with Indonesian carrier Garuda this month.

Air Timor director Abessey Bento the relationship between the airlines was in response to consumer demand.
He said the joint operation would initially focus on the Denpasar-Dili route but could expand in future to include other Garuda destinations.
Bento said the entrance of a new player onto the route would create price competition between carriers.
Garuda Indonesia’s chief executive officer Emirsyah Satar said the new flights would help both nations.
“I hope that we can better serve the passengers from Denpasar to Dili which will contribute to the economic development of the two countries as well”, he said.
Satar said Timorese nationals would be trained as flight staff, contributing to local employment.
