Villa-Verde is again in disrepair, even though it was rehabilitated in 2012.
According to Member of National Parliament Inacio Moreira, the asphalt which was used to build the road was not first tested in the National Laboratory (LabNas).
Member of Commission E (Infrastructure, Transports and communication) MP Inacio Moreira said the matter needed to be looked into.
“They did not survey the land and they do not bring the asphalt to the laboratory to have a test,” said MP Moreira in National Parliament.
He urged the government and the company responsible for the work, Estada Bo’ot, to ensure work was done to a higher standard in future.
Ministry of Public work (MOP) Director of National Laboratory (LabNas) Saturnino Gomes said the material said testing the asphalt didn’t guarantee the work would be of a high quality.
“It isn’t a guarantee of quality; it depends on the work of the construction company as to whether the work is of a good quality,” said Director Gomes.
