Eleven (11) members of FALINTIL-Timor-Leste Defence Forces (F-FDTL) are participating in a shooting competition in Adelaide-Australia.

Deputy F-FDTL Force Commander, Brigadier Filomeno Paixao said the competition takea place from April 22 until May 13, 2018, and is part of a broader Australia Army Skills Meeting.
“The shooting competition is organized every year in Adelaide, in Australia,” he said in Dili.
He added that 18 countries from Asia Pacific will also take part in the competition.
In total of 38 members of the F-FDTL forces departed to Australia including translators, instructors and counsellors.
He said they are well prepared and have been training to attend the meet.
“This is a very good opportunity so we will take it,” he added.
Meanwhile, youth Jose Freitas da Costa said the forces of F-FDTL need the training and need to attend such competitions as it provides defence for the country.
“The government should provide and facilitate training, give them the opportunity to improve their capacity so they are better ready to face any problems in Timor.”
