The General Director of the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training Policy and Employment (SEPFOPE) Jacinto Barros Gusmão said SEPFOPE has registered 2068 Timorese who used to work for Indonesian public service and whose names are not in the pension lists.

SEPFOPE can only make payments to beneficiaries whose names are in the approved list and those whose names are not in the approved list will need to be sent to the Indonesian government for verification of entitlement to the payment.
“We have registered [the absent beneficiaries] and sent the list to Indonesia,” said Director Gusmao in Kaikoli, Dili.
Another 100 Timorese have not yet received their payment even though their names are in the payment list.
Former Indonesian public servant Paulina Borges whose name isn’t listed urged the Indonesian government to hasten the process given that she is entitled to get paid.
“My name hasn’t appeared in the payment list since i had only made the first payment on the housing unit. I urge the Indonesian Government to speed up the process as it’s our right,” said claimant Borges.
She said also she used to work at the office of the Local Government II which is now known as Dili’s Municipal Administration and added that most officials who worked at in her office aren’t in the payment list.
“I don’t know how the data was collected just that our names are not listed,” she added.
Borges hopes both Timor-Leste and Indonesia to cooperate with one another to solve the problems of the 2068 former Indonesian public servants whose names have not yet been listed so they can get what they are entitled to.
